In London, Ontario Owen Davis was born to Bill and Wanda, joining his brothers, Andrew and Grant.

Sensing he was going to need some guidance in life - less than a year later his cousin, Jessica Davis, was born.

Deciding the world had waited long enough, Mackenzie Snell was born at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, to Matt and Kim.

Life as an only child had grown dull for Mackenzie, luckily Paige Snell was born.

After a move to Markham and a couple Sunday School classes, the Snells were introduced to Mark Stewart.

Ready for new challenges, Owen headed off to high school. There he prioritized math, science, and his job at McDonald’s.

On the other side of Southern Ontario, Mackenzie’s high school experience was filled with theatre, books, baking, weird crafts, and a thorough education in pop culture.

After his first two years of university at UOIT, Owen invited some old friends from residence to a party he was hosting. One of whom was Evan Medri, who would end up dating his cousin, Jess.

After her first two years at UofT, Mackenzie decided to head to Glasgow on exchange. Within 24 hours she had met Delaney Menoher and Erin Solloway. They spent the next six months travelling, and sometimes going to class, and came back to North America lifelong friends.

Entering his third year, Owen decided to move in with two of his closest friends from his program, Kari Seepaul and Katie Brown.

Although they had been good friends throughout all of university, Owen found himself building a closer friendship with Shubham Patel during his final few years at school.

As restrictions began to ease, one of Mackenzie’s old friends invited her camping with her college friends - two of whom were Kari and Shubham.

On Day 2 of camping, the group started to run out of food. Kari called one of her friends to do an emergency food delivery and join the group. Two hours later, Owen showed up - hamburgers in one hand, mini BBQ to build in the other.

There was no time for new friendships or romance, as Mackenzie headed to Syracuse for her Master’s and Owen finished his degree at Ontario Tech.

He did manage to sneak his way into a couple virtual game nights she and his roommates had planned.

Kari gave Mackenzie explicit instructions to ensure she was back in the country in time for her Canada Day party.

Here Mackenzie was re-introduced to Owen and got to meet the rest of the gang in person, including Katie, who she had only met for virtual book clubs previously.

At a celebration for Mackenzie’s birthday, Owen and Mark are introduced. They hit it off right away and soon were embarking on a bromance for the ages.

A mutual friend needed backup on a first date and asked two of her friends to wait nearby, Mackenzie and Kate Allan meet and kill time at the restaurant next door. They then hang out every day for a week.

After they have both moved downtown, Owen asks Mackenzie on their first date to the CNE.

At a Taylor Swift themed bar night, Kari brings Emily Slaney. Mackenzie and Emily spend the streetcar ride pouring their hearts out to each other.

Introduced the summer prior, Owen and Chris Slaney find themselves becoming fast friends while both working at OPG.

After dating for two years, Mackenzie and Owen decide to go on a trip to Italy. While there, Owen proposes. Mackenzie pretends to be surprised.
